PT. MRT Jakarta Has Five Female Machinists

PT. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta has five female machinists.

This is the first MRT with female machinist named Tiara and she is 21 years old

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan admitted has met with one of MRT female machinists while visiting Lebak Bulus MRT Depot yesterday.

"I appreciate it. This is the first MRT with female machinist named Tiara and she is 21 years old," stated Anies at Lebak Bulus Depot, South Jakarta, Thursday (4/12).

MRT Jakarta Has International Standard Facilities

PT. MRT Jakarta still needs 65 machinists to operate 16 trains. But currently only 32 machinists are ready and five of them are female.

"We are proud with Indonesian people who have worked hard in preparing it for years," he said.

Currently, two MRT trains have arrived in Jakarta. Each train sets consist of six railway cars and one railway car can accommodate 300 passengers with 50 seats.

"It can fit up to 300 people per railway car. So, one set of train can transport 1,800 people," he informed.

He conveyed that currently MRT construction has reached 92.5 percent. Later on, Lebak Bulus Depot which is built above 10.5 hectare lands will be the central of MRT activity.
