1,600 Residents Targeted to Become New Entrepreneurs

East Jakarta Administration is about to open training for 1,600 residents this year. It is divided into four programs under East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-dept.

This year we'll open training for 1,600 residents. Then, in five years, we want to absorb 8.000 participants

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana said it is dedicated to the small and medium industries (IKM). The types of activities in this program are culinary, fashion, handicraft and electronics (mobile phone service).

"This year we'll open training for 1,600 residents. Then, in five years, we want to absorb 8.000 participants. This training is under the Industry and Energy Sub-dept.," he stated, Tuesday (4/17).

It is part of OK OCE program. It is hoped to create new entrepreneurs. So there will be additional new jobs.

"We want all of these products to be so high quality thus they will be easy to market," he stated.

The government has also requested the UMKM Sub-dep. to support its marketing. At least, a number of hotels and tourist attractions should be invited to cooperate in marketing products from entrepreneurs incorporated in OK OCE program.
