SDA Dept. Accelerates Land Acquisition For Reservoir and River Normalization

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Dept. allocates Rp 1.3 trillion from its budget for flood handling program this year.

In 2018, Water Resources Dept. has allocated budget for land acquisition with total Rp 1.3 trillion

Jakarta SDA Dept. Head, Teguh Hendrawan informed, it will be used to obtain land for river normalization, reservoir, lake, retention basin that have been progressed since last year.

River Normalization must Be Accelerated

"In 2018, Water Resources Dept. has allocated budget for land acquisition with total Rp 1.3 trillion," he informed, Tuesday (4/24).

He explained, budget Rp 1.3 trillion is allocated to buy land for river normalization program as much as Rp 800 billion. While remaining Rp 500 billion is prepared to buy land for reservoir, lake, and retention basin construction.

"So our focus is still the same with last year which is to continue national strategic programs," he explained.

According to him, land acquisition for this year will be focused to continue normalization on Ciliwung River, Pesanggrahan River, and Sunter River. While reservoir construction will be focused in five locations. Those are in Rambutan Reservoir, Cimanggis Reservoir, Brigief Reservoir, Lebak Bulus Reservoir, and Marunda Reservoir.

"We haven't go to Rawa Kendal yet. So it is not hampered, but currently there is no land acquisition in the location," he stated.
