Ramadan, 2,000 Liquor Bottles in N. Jakarta Confiscated

We deliberately intensify the raid in all sub-districts, to suppress the circulation of liquor

Since the beginning of the fasting month, the officers have confiscated at least 2,000 liquor bottles from six sub-districts in North Jakarta. Even, 700 out of them have an alcohol content more than 5 percent.

Head of North Jakarta Satpol PP, Partono said that his side has intensified the raid against liquor all over Jakarta ahead of the fasting month. In addition to the honor of Ramadan, the raid also aims to anticipate negative impacts caused by the influence of alcohol.

North Jakarta Police Confiscated 487 Liquor Bottles

"We deliberately intensify the raid in all sub-districts, to suppress the circulation of liquor," he said, Thursday (7/17).

To create public order and smoothen citizens in religious practices, he stressed, the raid will be intensified. This is because, there are still some shop houses selling liquor bottles.

"Koja area for instance, we suspect many liquor sellers there. Considering we had seized 700 liquor bottles in such place," he stated.
