Cheap Market in Pasar Minggu Gets Positive Response From Citizens

It is hoped able to help the needy, especially for Pasar Minggu Sub-district to get affordable price

Jakarta KUKMP Dept. opens cheap market on the courtyard of the Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta. The market sells some foodstuffs sold at low prices directly invaded by citizens.

Jakarta KUKMP Dept. Head, Irwandi disclosed, it is aimed to provide cheap foodstuffs to citizens. Considering, its price would increase ahead of Ramadan.

East Jakarta Opens Cheap Market in 10 Sub-districts

"It is hoped able to help the needy, especially for Pasar Minggu Sub-district to get affordable price," he expressed, at the location, Monday (5/7).

According to him, it is held over cooperation with various elements, such as PD Dharma Jaya, PT Food Station Tjipinang, etc.

Some foodstuffs sold are 2,000 liters of cooking oil by Rp 11,000 per liter, 2 tons of sugar Rp 10,000 per kg, 500 kg of wheat flour Rp 7,000 per kg.

"We also offer meat, rice, chicken and grocery package from BUMD and private company," he explained.

Pasar Minggu Sub-district Head, Agus Irwanto admitted he is happy with the cheap market in his region. 

"We're grateful about this market. It is because people could get foodstuffs at affordable price before Ramadan," he stated.

At the same time, Saanih (45), one of citizens felt very helpful, as the price is cheaper than market prices.

"This is cheaper. Such as sugar, oil and flour. We can save considerably ahead of Ramadan," he said.
