Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno, revealed shariah economy must continue to grow in the capital, thus it can give more benefit to the public.

According to him, there must be legal certainty to make Jakarta as the Global Islamic Financial Hub. Additionally, there needs to be a policy that synergizes various sharia economy stakeholders.
"Shariah economy must grow and develop in terms of financial sector or real sector in Jakarta," he expressed, after leading a meeting about discussion on follow-up of the Islamic economic development in Jakarta, at City Hall, Thursday (5/24).

Ampera Besar Projected to Be Economic Development LocationIn the meeting attended by representatives from the financial services authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia (BI), and related SKPD, there was discussion on the picture of the economic potential of sharia in the banking, tourism and other sectors.
"There may be a special small team to formulate what multi-stakeholder initiatives we can do with OJK, Sharia Economic Community (MES), and BI," he stated.
He emphasized it should provide three main impacts namely, job creation, pressing inequality, and reducing the level of poverty.
"Bazis should be part of the acceleration, the allocation of Bazis funds, among others, to create new jobs. Shariah financial literacy should be increased up to 10 percent, hopefully this will bring blessing for all of us," he stated.
