E. Jakarta Gulkarmat Checks Pulo Gebang Terminal's Fire Safety System

Ahead of homecoming season, East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. examines building's fire and safety system at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal. Personnel also examines fire extinguisher (APAR) inside AKAP buses.

Fire safety system checking in Pulo Gebang Terminal is very important

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept.'s Prevention Section Head, Edi Parwoko mentioned, his side examines Pulo Gebang Terminal's fire protection system from its fire hydrant system, sprinkler, and fire alarm system. This examination is including life safety equipment such as emergency stairs and fire safety signs.

"Fire safety system checking in Pulo Gebang Terminal is very important. Because many passengers will be assembled in this place. Thus it must be safe from fire hazard. Especially passengers will be accumulated during homecoming flow and back flow," he explained, Thursday (6/7).

According to him, fire hydrant system has been checked by seven personnel on the location and now it is ready to use.

After checking fire safety system in terminal, his side continues to check fire extinguisher equipment in AKAP buses, especially buses that parked at bus garage and buses on the departure lane.

"We check to ensure it has APAR and glass breaker," he added.

After checking those AKAP buses, his side confirms that most buses have been equipped with glass breakers.
