Tanjidor Music Enlivens Asian Games Torch Parade in E. Jakarta

The traditional band of tanjidor and drum band is enlivening the Asian Games Torch replica in Pekayon Urban Village, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Sunday (7/1). The release of this torch is done by East Jakarta City Secretary, Usmayadi.

It is participated by 500 people from five urban villages in Pasar Rebo Sub-district. 

4,290 S. Jakarta Residents to Enliven Asian Games Torch Festival

Usmayadi stated it is held to welcome the upcoming Asian Games in August.

"This festival is to inflame and enliven the Asian Games," he stated.

Pasar Rebo Sub-district Acting Head, Panangaran Ritonga added, there are 30 points of torch handover during estafet (relay running). If the sub-district team is reaching 200 personnel thus each urban village will send 60 people to bring the torch replica.

"In Pekayon Urban Village, the drum band and tanjidor music groups are also parading the torch," he explained.

Not only that, around 120 members of ontel bike community are also participating in the festival. Then each urban village also sent the decorated vehicles to accompany the torch.
