198 Students to Enliven Asian Games Torch Parade in Kelapa Gading

The Asian Games Torch Parade that falls in the upcoming Sunday will invite 198 students from 18 SMA and SMK schools in Kelapa Gading Sub-district, North Jakarta.

Kelapa Gading Sub-district Head, Manson Sinaga stated each school has prepared 11 students as the main team of replica torch runners. They will be responsible to parade a replica torch in each stage to the stop point.

He explained, torch parade route will start from sub-district office and continued to Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village through Jalan Bolulevard Timur-Pegangsaan Dua-Kelapa Nias.
Further, they will go to Kelaga Gading Barat Urban Village, starting from Jalan Boulevard Artha Gading and Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan. Afterwards, the torch will be paraded through Jalan Blulevard Raya towards Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village before returning to the sub-district office.
Aside that, the parade will also involve 2,000 locals consisting of RT/RW, LMK, Karang Taruna, cadres, community leaders, religious leaders and private parties will also run to accompany the torch.
"At every point of change, we plan to have a festivity," he stated.
The parade itself will begin at 7 AM at the sub-district office and return to the sub-district office at around 11 AM. To support it, there will be stage entertainment and bazaar involving 40 OK OCE traders during the event.
"For bazar, we will hold two days, precisely on Saturday (7/14) and Sunday (7/15)," he said.
