81 Horses in S. Jakarta Free of Equine Disease

South Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Sub-dept. monitors and check 81 horses health ahead of Asian Games.

We examine all 81 horses in South Jakarta and we don't find any dangerous disease on those horses

The result, those horses are declared free of dangerous disease.

South Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. Head, Wachyuni mentioned, her side needs to realize Equine Disease free Zone (EDFZ) since equestrian competition will be held as a part of Asian Games.

Microchip will Be Installed to 302 Local Horses

"We examine all 81 horses in South Jakarta and we don't find any dangerous disease on those horses," she explained, Friday (7/13).

Her side took samples on 81 horses three times between November 2017 to April 2018 to check horses health.

According to her, blood testing is done by Balai Besar Veteriner Wates (BBVET)'s laboratory in Subang and Veterinary Research Center (BALITVET) in Bogor.

She mentioned, 81 horses are examined in five different sub-districts. Those are in Pasar Minggu, Jagakarsa, Cilandak, Tebet and Pesanggrahan.

"There is no horse entering our region until June. According to regulation, there should be no mutation and addition of horse population during March-September 2018," she affirmed.
