Vehicle speed is increased by 12 percent

It is proven that odd-even traffic system expansion gives positive effects. Besides reducing travel time, it also improves air quality in Jakarta and increases public transportation users.

Odd-Even Policy Expansion Considered Effective to Improve Air Quality in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan stated, vehicle's speed is increased because current road is not as crowded as before odd-even policy is applied.

"Vehicle speed is increased by 12 percent. It means traffic becomes better due to odd-even policy implementation," he conveyed at City Hall, Monday (7/23).

Moreover, he also explained this policy has reduced CO concentration by 1.7 percent, NO concentration by 14.7 percent, and THC concentration by 1.3 percent.

"Details can be seen later, but it is clearly decreased," he expressed.

He added, implementation on odd-even policy expansion also helps to increase Transjakarta bus passengers from the average 790 thousand passengers per day into 877 thousand passengers.

"Transjakarta bus passengers is also increased by almost 10 percent," he conveyed.
