Jakarta Council (DPRD) gives positive response towards Jakarta Provincial Government decision to cover Kali Item (Black River) using black nylon mesh in order to reduce unpleasant smell.

Jakarta Council Head, Prasetio Edi Marsudi appreciates Jakarta Government effort in solving problem of Kali Item which is located behind Wisma Atlet. Considering Asian Games will be held only several weeks ahead.

But, he suggested Jakarta Government to focus solving Kali Item problems after Asian Games.
"It should be solved during dry season. It is fine by only dredging it. Thus it will not cause inundation in rainy season," he explained.
