1,681 Vehicles Ready to Escort Asian Games Athletes

Jakarta Provincial Government prepares 1,681 vehicles to escort athletes for Asian Games event that will be started on August 18.

In total, we prepare 1,681 vehicles to escort athletes during Asian Games

There are 306 new vehicles purchased by Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) from that total vehicles.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Andri Yansyah said, procurement for those 306 vehicles is done to strengthen his team to escort Asian Games athlete's operational while traveling from Wisma Atlet to venue and vice versa.

Those new 306 vehicles consist of 44 towing cars, 4 operational cars, 45 patrol cars, 177 motorcycles with 250cc capacity, 34 motorcycles with 650cc capacity, and 2 motorcycles with 1,600cc capacity.

"In total, we prepare 1,681 vehicles to escort athletes during Asian Games," he informed, Wednesday (8/8).

Meanwhile, his side will also add 50 school buses from total 120 school buses currently owned by City. It is done to fulfill school bus operational needs to take students to Asian Games venues.

"We also prepare 350 Transjakarta buses for athlete and official's mobilization," he added.

According to him, his side rents 1,038 cars consist of Mercedes Benz, Innova, Hiace, and box cars.

His side also prepares 1,700 Transjakarta buses to serve passengers who want to go to venue to watch the match.

"Passengers can take a ride for free on day off and every Sunday," he stated.
