First MRT Jakarta Train Tested

PT. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta conducts System Acceptance Test (SAT) to the first Jakarta MRT train at Lebak Bulus Depot, South Jakarta, Thursday (8/9). This test needs to be conducted before MRT Jakarta operates fully on March 2019.

Through this test, we can also check whether its electric supply is good or not

PT. MRT Jakarta Director, William Sabandar stated, his side will test train signalling system, telecommunication, and Overhead Catenary System (OCS) by operating train from Depot Inspection Shed Area, Stabling Track 1, until Depot Access Line (DAL)

"Through this test, we can also check whether its electric supply is good or not by using Automatic Train Protection (ATP) in manual mode by machinist for railway in Depot," he explained, Friday (8/10).

His side also tested to operate it in low speed, medium, and high speed. MRT Jakarta also uses Communication- Based Train Control (CBTC) for its signalling system which is controlled by Traffic Dispatcher from Operation Control Center (OCC) room.

"One of this signaling system advantages is OCC can set the time span between trains in the main line," he informed.
