Athletes' Homestead and Asian Games Venues will Have Solar Charging Station

The athletes' homesteads and Asian Games venues will be equipped with solar charging stations.

This is not just a matter of getting the power, but awareness to use renewable energy needs to be constantly raised

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, very appreciated the use of renewable energy sources to meet electricity needs in strategic locations, especially those related to the Asian Games.

"This is not just a matter of getting the power, but awareness to use renewable energy needs to be constantly raised," he expressed, after witnessing the signing of the cooperation agreement between Jakarta Provincial Government and PT Berau Coal about solar charging station in a bid to meet facilities needs at the match and Asian Games training venues, in Monas area, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (8/14).

He added that it is a form of good partnership between the government and the private sector to serve the people, as well as a form of mutual concern in preserving the environment.

"Hopefully installation of this solar charging station can campaign for the need for renewable energy as a source of our need for energy in Jakarta," he stated.

As for the information, solar charging station will also be installed in a number of prime tourist destination locations in Jakarta.
