Asian Games Flame Torch Paraded on Untung Jawa Island

The Seribu Islands District brought the Asian Games Flame Torch to Untung Jawa Island after being handed over by the North Jakarta Administration, Friday (17/8) morning.

This is a very historic moment of the Asian Games torch in this place and this is a pride

The torch that is received by Nadine Chandrawinata would be taken to Untung Jawa Island using the Baracuda boat via the ABC Mall Pier, Ancol.

Further, it was directly received by Seribu Islands Regent, Husein Murad on the east side of Untung Jawa Island's pier. It was carried around to the field to take part in the 73rd Independence Day anniversary.

"This is a very historic moment of the Asian Games torch in this place and this is a pride," he expressed.

After Independence Day ceremony, it was brought back around to the east side pier.

 

Meanwhile, Tohida (45), one of Untung Jawa Islands citizens admitted that since morning he had been waiting to see the torch.

"We're very happy and proud that the Asian Games flame torch passed here. We hope Indonesian athletes can be the best," he said.
