N. Jakarta Deploys 139 Sacrificial Animal Inspectors

North Jakarta Government deploys 139 personnel to examine animal's health and meat in slaughterhouses from Eid al-Adha until D+3.

I hope this examination could be done well and carefully, before and after it is slaughtered

North Jakarta Mayor, Syamsudin Lologau said, animal's health examination needs to be done to ensure animals are in healthy state and its meat is safe to be consumed. Besides, personnel will also ensure its slaughter process is according to sharia.

"I hope this examination could be done well and carefully, before and after it is slaughtered. Thus its meat is safe to be consumed," he said, Tuesday (8/21).

He explained, personnel will also ensure animals slaughtering waste to be collected well thus it will not pollute the waterways.

North Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Sub-dept. Head, Rita Nirmala explained, 139 deployed personnel are consist of 56 people from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), 65 people from KPKP Dept., 15 veterinarians, and 3 people from Agriculture Ministry.

"They will be deployed in six sub-districts. Especially in Koja, Tanjung Priok, and Cilincing," she stated.
