Jakarta Badminton Team Wins The Asian Junior Sports Exchange

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan conveys his gratitude since Jakarta badminton team became the champion in The Asian Junior Sports Exchange 2018, Tokyo, Japan.

Hopefully they can get more achievements

"Thanks to God, we should be grateful of this achievement. Later we will welcome them," he conveyed at City Hall, Monday (9/3).

He hopes, Jakarta badminton junior athletes for not being complacent since their struggle in the future must be harder as a defending champion.

"Hopefully they can get more achievements," he said.

As reported before, line up for Jakarta badminton team consist of Abi Safin Karami (men's single); Stephanie Wijaya (women's single); Muhammad Ridhwanul Ulum and Stephanie Wijaya (mixed doubles); Siti Sarah Azzahra and Irgi Aprilla Hizkia (women's double); then Hendrawan and Abi Safin Karami (men's double).

Before going to final, Jakarta team has defeated badminton teams from Yangon, Iwate, and Seoul through landslide victories with score 5-0. While in final, Jakarta succeed to defeat Kuala Lumpur team with score 3-2.

Meanwhile, athlete with disability from Jakarta named Mailani Qulbi Syafa'ul has also managed to be the third rank in The Asian Junior Sport Exchange's Para Badminton.
