Channels in Petojo Selatan Cleaned to Anticipate Inundation

Tens personnel of Petojo Selatan Urban Village PPSU, Gambir, Central Jakarta clean up water channel near  locations prone to inundation at RW 07, Enclek Market.

"We deploy 63 PPSU personnel to several locations reported by RW 07 residents," mentioned Arief Biki, Petojo Selatan Urban Village Head, Monday (9/10).

Channel on Jalan KH Mansyur Dredged

Based on resident's report, he conveyed, water channel on the location hasn't been cleaned for a long time. During dry season, mud sedimentation becomes harden and it reduces water capacity from one meters into 30 centimeters.

"Since yesterday, we dredge it together with local residents," he said.

According to him, his side not only cleans water channel near Enclek Market, but also other channels prone to inundation such as on  Jalan Petojo Sabangan and Jalan Petojo Melintang.

"Including water channel on Jalan Tanah Abang IV and Jalan Sabangan XI" he added.
