City will Ensure to Provide Free Funeral Supporting Facilities

Jakarta Government will ensure to provide funeral supporting facilities in public cemetery (TPU) such as tent, chairs, and microphones thus it can be used for free.

Residents who conduct interment of their family members in Jakarta Government's TPU have the rights to use those facilities

Regarding facilities in public cemetery, Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah stated, residents should be informed well that the facilities can be accessed for free.

"Residents who conduct interment of their family members in Jakarta Government's TPU have the rights to use those facilities," he affirmed, Thursday (9/13).

City Allocated Rp 400 B to Purchase Land for Cemetery

He reminds apparatuses for not making mourners feel burdened due to lack of information about these free facilities and makes them rent it from others.

"I will ask Forestry Dept. to budget more facilities if needed," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Forestry Dept. Head, Djafar Muchlisin said, currently Jakarta Government manages 82 TPUs.

"Each TPUs provides funeral supporting facilities that can be accessed freely. We will add more of it," he conveyed.

He explained, his side will coordinate further with Forestry Sub-dept. in each Jakarta regions regarding ideal amount of funeral facilities and infrastructures in each TPUs.

"The point is, we will optimize our work thus residents can get an optimal service," he closed.
