Anies Opens Seminar and Munas of Indonesian School Library Forum

It is important for all of us to reach out to the new generation with the right breakthroughs

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan is opening seminar and national meeting (Munas) of 2018 Indonesian School Library Forum (FPSI) at the National Library building, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

On that occasion, he encourages all stakeholders to see the phenomenon of the existence of literacy and reading interest which in reality has challenges in the current digital era.

"There are currently mobile phones that can be used to download library applications and other applications," he expressed, Tuesday (10/9).

He asked the forum participants were to raise awareness about the importance of literacy and foster habits for reading and writing.

"It is important for all of us to reach out to the new generation with the right breakthroughs," he uttered.

 It is time for librarians to reach out to children and young people that are creative, innovative and variative.

"Find them in communities with an extraordinary variety of activities," he said.
