City Develops Cipedak Avocado Planting

Jakarta Government mentioned to develop one of Jakarta typical plants, Cipedak Avocado while launching Women's Movement to Plant Trees at Cipedak Gemilang RPTRA, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

This activity is not only done to make environment becomes greener, but also to increase local residents income from harvesting Cipedak Avocado

In this event, Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept.'s Urban Farming Section Head, Taufik Yulianto requires all residents in 65 RTs and 6 RWs in Cipedak Urban Village, Jagakarsa to plant Cipedak Avocado in their houses.

"This activity is not only done to make environment becomes greener, but also to increase local residents income from harvesting Cipedak Avocado," he stated, Thursday (11/1).

Women's Movement to Plant Trees is done to implement Governor Instruction (Ingub) No. 1/2018 regarding Jakarta Typical Plants Preservation and Planting. This Ingub instructs urban villages and sub-districts apparatuses to encourage residents to support this program.

"We encourage residents to participate in preserving Jakarta typical plants according to its regional name," he conveyed.

In this activity, Cipedak Urban Village PKK cadres distribute Cipedak Avocado seeds to the locals and explain how to plant it.

"This activity needs to be maintained and preserved continuously to prevent Jakarta typical plants from becoming extinct," he mentioned.
