Ahead of Christmas and New Year, Jakarta Government will increase cheap market activities as a way to support residents and maintain price stability.
Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah mentioned, various staple commodities will be sold in this cheap market such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and flour.

Thus residents can buy various staple commodities in affordable price," he conveyed after attending coordination meeting about Supply Availability and Staple Commodity Price Stabilization Ahead of Christmas 2018 and New Year 2019, City Hall, Wednesday (12/12).
He asked related SKPDs and BUMDs in food field to cooperate in maintaining commodity price stability, especially staple commodity in Jakarta.
"Demand of staple commodities ahead of Christmas and New Year is predicted to increase between 5-7 percent," he informed.
Trade Ministry General Inspector, Sri Agustina appreciates all Jakarta Government apparatuses for their hard work in monitoring and maintaining commodity supply and commodity price stabilization in Jakarta.
"Jakarta Government, through related BUMDs has ensured food supply such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, beef, egg, and chicken meat," she conveyed.
According to her, by ensuring commodity availability and holding cheap market will be very useful to prevent and reduce price fluctuation, especially ahead of religious holidays.
"Jakarta Government has prepared a great budget to provide cheap food. This policy really supports the residents," she expressed.
