Anies Ensures Kita and Maju Beaches Open for Public

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan inaugurated groundbreaking of Jalan Sehat dan Sepeda Santai (pedestrian and bike lanes) called Jalasena at Kita Beach and Maju Beach, Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Sunday (12/23).

I want this area can be accessed for free for Jakartans

According to the plan, this public facilities can be used by citizens for free.

Governor arrived at the location around 8 AM by cycling with other related apparatuses. In that chance, Anies inaugurated Jalasena groundbreaking and also planted tree on the location.

He said, Jalasena construction is done by PT. Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), one of Jakarta's BUMDs. Jakpro will build this road with 7,667 meters long or 7.6 kilometers as wide as 3 meters in average. Jalasena will be made using paving blocks and in more than 109 hectares land of Maju Kamal Muara Beach.

"I want this area can be accessed for free for Jakartans. Because this place is no longer closed or exclusive, but it is open for public since it is owned by Jakartans," he asserted while inaugurating Jalasena lane construction.

He is targeting to complete this construction around April or May 2019. Thus it can be used for public to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day on August 2019.

"I hope all Jakartans can use this place. It is an opened public space, neither exclusive or closed. Moreover, we will facilitate UMKM to trade in this place," he added.

Just like facilities at Monas, this place will be built with various sports games facilities such as volleyball court, badminton court, basketball court, and others.

PT. Jakpro President Director, Dwi Wahyu Daryoto stated, Jakpro will give the best as it can to make this area to be beneficial to the public. He will prepare a team to design it first.

"We will try our best to build this area. We will involve UMKM in each events," he conveyed.

This area is planned to be a smart public area, with smart city concept. All facilities will be provided for visitors, such as worship facilities, clean water, sports, electricity, WiFi, and others. His side will also build modern fish market in its surrounding.
