North Jakarta will anticipate tidal flood during supermoon on January 19-22, 2019. Urban villages that prone to tidal flood have been guarded by personnel and safety equipment since last Saturday (1/19).

North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim instructs local RTs/RWs on the coastal area to be aware of tidal flood that could be happened due to high tide and heavy rain.

According to him, North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department has prepared 1,000 sacks of sand and portable pump with capacity 1/4 liter per second in each sub-districts. These sacks will be used to build emergency dike in case of flooding.
"Currently, we have been reported that Cilincing is still safe. While there is inundation about 5 centimeters in Penjaringan, around Pluit, Kamal Muara, and Muara Angke, but we still can handle it," he said.
Pluit Urban Village Head, Yoel Stefan Mark Sibarani anticipates it by cleaning and monitoring channels on residential area that leads to Muara Angke Reservoir, coordinating with SDA Sub-department to prepare sand sacks and mobile pump, and monitor garbage that is carried by the stream, especially in Mutiara Beach.
Meanwhile, Kamal Muara Urban Village Head, Dwi Pandji Forkiantoro also anticipates it by preparing personnel to monitor water level from the coastline. Besides, his side has prepared two portable pumps in case tidal flood is occurred.
"We also have several sand sacks for anticipation But there is no significant increase in water level," he stated.
