Today, Anies Inaugurates GORs in Jakarta

I have instructed Youth and Sport Department to bear students fee thus they can use its facilities for free

Today, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan inaugurates five Sports Centers (GOR) that have been completely renovated. Those are Matraman GOR and Pondok Bambu GOR in East Jakarta, Pademangan GOR in North Jakarta, Cilandak GOR and Pancoran GOR in South Jakarta. Besides, he also inaugurates Raden Inten Multipurpose Building after being repaired and Sunter GOR's football stadium for its lighting installation.

"I want sports center managements to innovate by involving locals in making this place to be a comfort and fun place for exercise," he conveyed in inauguration ceremony conducted in Matraman GOR, East Jakarta, Friday (2/15).

Five GORs in Jakarta Renovated

According to him, those sports centers have international standards. He hopes athletes and communities to exercise in sports centers routinely and support Jakarta to have new talented athletes.

"Senior athletes can also be invited to share their experiences and motivate their junior,'' he added.

Anies instructs Jakarta Youth and Sports Department to facilitate public, especially students, to access sport centers.

"I have instructed Youth and Sports Department to bear students fee thus they can use its facilities for free. This is a part of learning process," he asserted.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Department Head, Ratiyono informed, students can use sports center for free on Monday-Friday at 8 AM - 2PM.

"Particularly Jakarta Pintar (KJP) Plus card holders who can also use swimming pool facility in sports center for free," he explained.
