Srengseng Residents Grow Various Plants on Their Green Alley

RT 03 RW 07, Srengseng Urban Village, Kembangan, West Jakarta has green alley. It is decorated with various plants by the locals.

RW 07 Head, Suprapto stated, several years ago, this settlement was proposed for implementation of Climate Resilience Village Program (PROKLIM) and Green Alley program. Afterwards, this settlement is projected to have green alley since the locals are caring for plants and they also have hydroponic garden.

One of RT 03 residents, Lilis Karlina (49) mentioned, there are total 80 family heads in the settlements. They are divided into 10 groups and assigned for taking care and watering the plants every day.

"There are plant medicinal plants, vegetables, and decorative plants in this alley. We also produce compost," she informed, Monday (3/11).

Locals have harvested both medicinal plants and productive plants for several times and used it for self-consumption.

"Currently, we also try to breed and farm catfish by utilizing water channel," she added.
