New Pedestrian Bridges in South Jakarta to Be Revitalized with Touch of Betawi Culture

We will make futuristic wavy shape construction with Betawi cultures and icons design for those JPOs

Jakarta Bina Marga Department informs this year to revitalize Pasar Minggu and Daan Mogot Pedestrian Bridges (JPO)s using futuristic and millennial concept with touch of Betawi culture.

Previously, those two existing JPOs have been demolished by Bina Marga Department and its revitalization is expected to start by the end of this month.

New Pedestrian Bridges in Sudirman Expected to Be Jakarta's New Icon

Jakarta Bina Marga Department Head, Hari Nugroho plans to build it similar to JPOs in Sudirman as well as its lighting system.

"We will make futuristic wavy shape construction with Betawi cultures and icons design for those JPOs. For the lighting, we use combination of various colors to make it looks attractive," he mentioned, Tuesday (4/9).

His side also ensures to equip Daan Mogot and Pasar Mogot JPOs with disabled-friendly facilities such as lift and install Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) units which are connected to Jakarta Smart City.

"Those JPOs can be used not only as pedestrian bridge but also as selfie spot and public interaction space," he stated.
