City Gets Appreciation for Giving Social Assistance to Elderly

Jakarta Public Service (JPS) appreciates Jakarta Provincial Government for giving social assistance for elderly in Jakarta through Jakarta Elderly Card (KLJ) program as it is mentioned in Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 1 93/2017 about Providing Social Assistance to Fulfill Basic Needs of Elderly.

"We appreciate Jakarta Governor for taking sides to improve welfare of the elderly," mentioned JPS Executive Director, Mohammad Syaiful Jihad, Thursday (4/25).

S. Jakarta Distributes 1,924 KLJs Today

In this program, Jakarta Government gives social assistance as much as Rp 600 thousand per month for each old person. Related Regional Working Units (UKPD/SKPD) will help in registering the elderly who are qualified as KJP holders.

"I hope all elderly who have the rights the get the assistance to be registered," he said.

In 2018, Jakarta Government has distributed 28,420 KLJs. This year, government is targeting to give social assistance to 11,999 old people.
