TPID: Rice Stock Safe During Ramadan Until Eid

Jakarta Provincial Government has said rice stocks in the capital are safe during Ramadan until Eid.
State Logistics Agency (Bulog) is also ready to smoothen cheap market activities in several areas
Jakarta Regional Inflation Control Teams (TPID) Head, Saefullah said that regional working units (SKPD) along with regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) have coordinated with the central government and related unit to provide stock, control food price and prepare market activities cheap.

According to him, three BUMDs namely PD Dharma Jaya, Perumda Pasar Jaya, and PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya (FSTJ) have prepared stock, controlled food supply, and held cheap markets.
"State Logistics Agency (Bulog) is also ready to smoothen cheap market activities in several areas," he continued.
To face Ramadan and Eid, PT FSTJ is about to provide 20,000 tons of rice, 1,000 tons of chicken egg, 1,000 tons of mackerel, 2.4 million liters of milk, 500 tons of flour, and 600 tons of sugar.
While the PD Dharma Jaya plans to provide 1,080 tons of beef and 1,000 tons of chicken meat. They would also receive 800 cows from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and import 1,080 tons of beef from Australia in May-June 2019.
As for the Perumda Pasar Jaya wants to provide food commodities in the form of rice, garlic, chili, beef onion and chicken meat.
"Seeing this food supply will be safe and under control," he assured.
To suppress the inflation rate in the capital, cheap market will be held across five cities and one district, which falls on April 29-June 28.
In the meantime, Jakarta and Banten Bulog Vice Head, Tommy Despalingga justified that 260,000 tons of rice will be provided up to four months ahead.
"It will be an alternative to face Ramadan and Eid," he stated.
