Anies Launches Jakbook at Kenari Market

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, officially launched the Jakbook book sales center, daycare center (TPA) Negeri Bina Tunas Jaya IV and Kenari Market Jakmart managed by Pasar Jaya Perumda, in Kenari Market, Jalan Salemba Raya, Central Jakarta.

"We just want to fix bookkeeping ecosystem through affordable prices," he expressed, Monday (4/29).

He furthered that the book is a basic necessity and also still be something expensive in Indonesia. One reason is expensive costs of its distribution.

"So this becomes a solution for people who have an interest in reading is constrained by the high price of books," he stressed.

Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin expressed that it aimed to redevelop book sales centers at low prices in Jakarta.

"We used to know Kwitang, but it no longer exists," he told.

He added that no less important than the Jakbook book market's innovation was his party wants to be an important part to help educate the nation.

"If book prices are affordable, we have more opportunities to increase knowledge and insight," he said.
