Buildings Demolishment on Land of Priok Toll Road Delayed

Demolishtment plan against tens of houses affected by construction project of Priok Toll Road Access (ATP) at RW 01 Koja, Koja Sub-District, North Jakarta, Wednesday (8/27), delayed. This is because North Jakarta District Court asked Jakarta Provincial Government to pay compensation citizens' land as much as Rp 35 million square per meter prior to demolishment.

We'll do refutation first. According to court's decision, we have to do it within 2x14 days

Previously, on Tuesday (8/12), a warning letter was issued for citizens in Kalibaru and Koja Urban Villages affected by the project during the meeting. If they do not demolish their buildings on Wednesday (8/27), officers will conduct demolishment forcibly.

But after issuance of court's decision letter Number: 475/Pdt.G/2013/Pn.Jkt.Ut, North Jakarta Administration plans to conduct refutation first. While in Kalibaru area, demolishment would be carried out in accordance with meeting results.

Semi-Permanent Building in Kembangan Demolished

North Jakarta City Secretary, Junaedi admitted court's decision has an impact on such demolishment in Koja. Therefore, his side had to delay it. "We'll do refutation first. According to court's decision, we have to do it within 2x14 days," he told, Sunday (8/24).

He continued, his side is currently preparing refutation documents. Afterwards, he would file an appeal legally. "Certainly, we will file an appeal on such decision," he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Bambang Heriyanto, one of citizens at RT 06/01, Koja, Koja Sub-District, admitted he appreciates North Jakarta administration's decision to delay the demolishment. Prior to demolishment, they do have to pay compensation first.

He assessed that land price belongs to 46 citizens in Koja and Kebon Bawang was already set by North Jakarta District Court amounting to Rp 35 million per meter from initial price Rp 12 million set by appraisal team and is deemed reasonable. "We do not want to hinder development. Just use our land but you should pay compensation first," he stressed.
