City Continues to Intensify Ramp Checks on Eid Buses

Approaching Eid homecoming, ramp checks for buses transporting passengers are picking up pace in terminals since April.

We have to make sure all the fleets are in top condition when they leave

"We do this along with Transportation Agency and Ministry in all departure terminals," said Jakarta Transportation Agency's Terminal Technical Management Unit Operational Head, Syamsul Mirwan, Tuesday (5/28).

The checks carried out include document completeness, as well as vital parts and functions of the vehicle. If they are found, the bus will not operate," he stressed.

Nevertheless every bus that comes and arrives must continue to undergo ramp checks, even though they have undergone it in the previous terminal.

"We have to make sure all the fleets are in top condition when they leave," he uttered.

As reported earlier, four main terminals and four back up terminals are provided to support homecoming and returning flow.

Those main terminals are Kampung Rambutan, Pulogebang, Kalideres and Tanjung Priok. Then for back terminals are Pinang Ranti, Rawamangun, Grogol and Muara Angke.
