Peak of City's Anniversary to Combine Elements of Traditional and Technology

The Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to celebrate the peak of the city's 492nd anniversary, New Face of Jakarta, at HI Roundabout, Central Jakarta, Saturday (6/22). 

I call on road users to avoid the roads as well as follow the traffic diversion and officer's direction in the field

It will combine elements of traditional Betawi and technological sophistication. It will be performed through traditional dance, traditional songs and costumes colossally, and performances of video mapping, water screen and immersive.

It will be divided into three rounds, starting from Jakarta Tempo Doeloe, Jakarta Membangun until New Face of Jakarta. It is enlivened by performances of famous singers and bands, namely Pasha, Kotak, Siti Badriah and Wali.

They will sing Betawi songs such as Jali-Jali, Ondel-Ondel and Kicir-Kicir while wearing Betawi traditional clothes, including Abang-None and Pitung clothes.

To smoothen the event, Jakarta Transportation Agency is about to apply traffic diversion for two days, precisely during Gladi Resik (dress rehearsal) on Friday (6/21) and peak of city's anniversary on Saturday (6/22).

The detailed explanations related to traffic diversion are as follows:

a.    Gladi Resik at the Peak of City's Anniversary 

1.  Road Closure:

- On north side of HI Roudabout (at 2-8 PM)

- Jalan Sutan Syahrir (at 5 AM until finish)

2.  Traffic Diversion:

- Vehicle coming from Sarinah towards Jalan Sutan Syahrir will be rerouted to Jalan Imam Bonjol or Jalan Sudirman

- From Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya will be rerouted to Jalan Sutan Syahrir or turn back into Jalan Sudirman will be rerouted to Jalan M.H. Thamrin

- From Dukuh Atas towards Jalan Sutan Syahrir (HI Roundabout) will be rerouted to Jalan M.H. Thamrin.

b.    Peak of City's Anniversary 

1.   Road Closure:

- Jalan M. H. Thamrin on east and west sides (from Sarinah Intersection until HI Roundabout)

- Jalan Jenderal Sudirman on west side (from Dukuh Atas until HI Roundabout)

- Jalan Imam Bonjol (from HI Roundabout until Intersection of Jalan Agus Salim)

- There will be traffic engineering for Transjakarta bus plying Corridor 1 (further information will be announced by PT Transjakarta) 

2.   Traffic Diversion:

- Vehicles coming from Jalan Wahid Hasyim on east side that will turn left to Jalan M.H. Thamrin will be rerouted to Jalan Wahid Hasyim sisi Barat

- From Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya towards HI Roundabout will be directed to turn back

- From Jalan Teluk Betung towards Jalan Sudirman will be directed to turn back

- From Jalan Imam Bonjol towards HI Roundabout will be rerouted to Jalan Pamekasan or Jalan Agus Salim;

- From Semanggi towards HI Roundabout will be rerouted to Dukuh Atas - Jalan R.M. Margono Djodjohadikoesoemo.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Acting Head, Sigit Wijatmoko uttered that parking lots will also be prepared in IRTI Monas, Park and Ride Thamrin 10, Jalan Imam Bonjol and Mandiri Plaza.
