Jakarta Council (DPRD) Regulation Forming Agency (Bapemperda) held a
meeting to review Regional Regulation (Perda) No.3/2013 that regulates Waste Management in Jakarta since it is proposed to be revised by Jakarta Governor.Revision is needed to strengthen legal protection of waste management,
"Revision is needed to strengthen legal protection of waste management," stated Merry Hotma, Jakarta DPRD Bapemperda Deputy Head, Monday (7/8).
In this meeting, she expressed that her side supports Jakarta Environment Department to build Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) since it can turn waste into electrical energy and reduce number of waste transported to Bantar Gebang TPST.
Bapemperda Reviews Perda Regarding 3 BUMDs' PMDIn the other hand, Jakarta Environment Department Head, Andono Warih added, ITF construction is one of Jakarta Government's plan to reduce waste in Bantar Gebang by turning it into electrical energy.
"ITF is one of our solutions to handle waste in Jakarta," he asserted.
