City Hall Provides Reading Corner Facility

Jakarta Library and Archive Department (Dispusip) provides reading corner on the ground floor of Blok G, City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta. It is opened during work hours and it can be accessed by public.

It is our effort to get more people to enjoy reading

Jakarta Dispusip Head, Wahyu Haryadi conveyed, his side places reading corner in City Hall to improve reading interest among City Hall's internal employees first.

"It is our effort to get more people to enjoy reading. Hopefully ASN in Jakarta City Hall can also give a good example for citizens about the importance of reading while utilizing reading corner as a place to build interaction and share information with others," he said, Tuesday (7/16).

This reading corner provides 1,000 interesting books from encyclopedia, motivational books, novels, biography, travel, and others which are distributed from Cikini Public Library. Its interior is also designed to make visitors feel comfortable by placing two bean bag chairs as relaxing spot. 

"We also accept book donation. Anyone who are interested to help us improving reading interest in Jakarta can drop the books in reading corner's donation box," he mentioned.
