Kelapa Gading Puskesmas Introduces Benefits of Jamu by Offering It to Visitors

Every Tuesday and Friday at 9 AM, Kelapa Gading Puskesmas, North Jakarta gives free traditional herbal medicine (locally known as Jamu) to the visitors. It offers various types of Jamu such as Gading Pletok, Seger Wereng Gading, Gading Jasera (contains of ginger, lemongrass, and brown sugar), Secang Gading, Sella Gading, dan Gading Curta (Curcuma with Tamarindus).

It is useful for increasing endurance and improving metabolism system

Kelapa Gading Puskesmas Head, Selvy Devity Anggraeni mentioned, through this innovation, her side wants to socialize people about health benefits that can be obtained from consuming Jamu.

"Jamu is good for your health. It is useful for increasing endurance and improving metabolism system," she said, Tuesday (7/16).

According to her, Jamu that is offered in Kelapa Gading Puskesmas has been recommended by Health Ministry and Drug and Food Supervisory Agency Center (BBPOM) from its ingredients, dose, and cookware that is used clay pot with Indonesian National Standard (SNI).

Her side also socializes how to make Jamu by giving brochures thus people can consume it at home.

"Jamu can be consumed by children and adults. It is safe and good for health," she mentioned.
