North Jakarta Mayor Office to Apply Parking Ban Zone Next Week

This is our effort to minimize air pollution in Jakarta

An emission-based parking ban zone for operational service vehicle (KDO) will be applied next week in the North Jakarta Mayor Office, including private state civil apparatus (ASN) vehicles that did not pass the emissions.

Emission Test in Central Jakarta Targets 2,000 Vehicles

"This is our effort to minimize air pollution in Jakarta. Trial has been applied since today (Monday) until tomorrow. Afterwards, its results will be inputed to e-emission test application," disclosed North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim, Wednesday (7/16).

Personnel will be on standby at 6.30-8 AM at the mayor office's gate in a bid to monitor vehicles through the application. Then for the unworthy vehicles, will be directed to park outside the office.

As for the visitor vehicles, its monitoring will start at 4.30 PM. Its unworthy vehicles will be directed to park the office's yard.

"Let's reduce the use of private vehicles and switch to using public vehicles," he said.
