10,800 Elementary Schools Targeted to Participate in Literacy Tourism

The Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-agency is targeting 10,800 students to participate in Literacy Tourism program.

T he participants are from public schools

It is held at Central Jakarta Public Library every Tuesday-Thursday at 8-12 AM with participants from grade 1 to 6th students.

"The participants are from public schools. While for private schools, can request to us to join," expressed Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-agency Head, Meti Lastri, Thursday (7/25).

It can foster interest in reading among students who are hoped to love the library through invitation to visit the library

"If the reading culture is attached, literacy skills can be mastered," he stressed.

Assistant for People's Welfare, Catur Laswanto appreciates this program whereby it should be expanded and reach all levels of society.

"The most important is how to increase interest in reading. That's why, we must support it," she stressed.
