Anies Targets Public Transport Integration Through Jak Lingko

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan gave a speech and a briefing in the 2019 Jakarta Regional Working Conference I and the Leadership Working Committee, as well as Organda Taxi Leadership Council in one of hotels in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (7/30).

The government and citizens must collaborate to develop an eco-friendly mass transportation

He targets the integration of all mass transportation modes through Jak Lingko, thus requiring a collaborative role with Organda to make it happen.

"The government and citizens must collaborate to develop an eco-friendly mass transportation thus they can support each other and facilitate its main purpose that aims to attract citizens to use public transportation. So our transportation can develop well which provides benefits for its citizens," expressed Anies as quoted by Jakarta PPID press release.

Public Transportation Use Keeps Being Socialized to Public

In 1998, he explained, around 49 percent of citizens used public transportation. Yet, people nowadays who use it are only 23-25 percent that means this facility is very attractive compared to private vehicles as time goes by.

"Surely we must think not only rationally in our personal and collective ways. Hence, we compile the system collectively, Insya Allah all will be profitable ye the mechanism is arranged together. That is what I hope we will be able to realize together through Organda," he stated.

He also asserted that it could be developed by raising a small and medium scale business becomes large, instead of minimizing the already large business. He also wants deliberations between mass transportation organizations to be in line with the public interest in presenting an integrated system through the Jak Lingko forum.

"Therefore I want to thank you as Organda synergized well. We want to continue to develop and hope that Jak Lingko will reach a wider range. Besides micro vehicle, but we also focus on the middle class, if it can be realized, more than 95 percent of Jakarta areas can be served. So I hope with Organda, can continue to work together," he stated.
