Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department Head, Darjamuni opens Ornamental Fish Contest and Exhibition at Plaza Kalibata Mall's Parking Lot, Pancoran, South Jakarta. This event will be held from Wednesday (7/31) until Sunday (8/4).

This event is provided to give a space for small-medium scale ornamental fish farmers, business owners, and hobbyists to gather in discussion, meeting, and consultation for improving marketing network.
"We want to improve ornamental fish industry in Jakarta because we see potential in it," he said.
Through this event, his side wants to revive ornamental fish business in small and medium scales. Thus his side plans to make this event to be an annual event to revive ornamental fish business in Jakarta.
"Surely, we will support if this event could be bigger next year. We will work optimally and if possible, we will find bigger venue for this event," he expressed.
Meanwhile, Marine and Fisheries Ministry's Human Resources Research Agency Head, Sjarief Widjaja added, this event is an extraordinary initiative from Jakarta Government through KPKP Department.
"I support this business to transform from home industry or traditional business into a huge business within this digital era 4.0. We need to change our mindset that ornamental fish is not only an exclusive commodity but it can be target for export. Besides, they can use social media to promote it," he explained.
For information, there are around 500 participants joined in ornamental fish contest and exhibition from ornamental fish business owners, private fisheries company, Maritime and Fisheries Ministry, ornamental fish communities, and ornamental fish farmers under KPKP Sub-department in five Jakarta regions.
This event is enlivened by Ornamental Fish Exhibition, Fish Feed, and Aquascaping; Ornamental Fish Business Meeting with theme 'Efforts to Expand the Ornamental Fish Market'; Workshop: Ornamental Fish Industry Development in Digital Era 4.0; Ornamental Fish Market that consists of booths that sell ornamental fish in this event.
