Joint Post Opened to Accelerate Oil Waste Handling in Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands Regency and PT. Pertamina opens joint post at Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head's official residence to accelerate oil waste handling in South Thousand Islands.

I hope all institutions and residents can cooperate to solve this problem

Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad wants this post to be used as coordination center for all sides to share information regarding oil spills that polluting seven islands in South Thousand Islands. 

Gerebek Sampah Held to Clean Up Untung Jawa Island and Its Surroundings

"This post has organization structure and Decree (SK) to accelerate our work in cleaning and handling oil waste that spilled at our seas in July," he asserted, Tuesday (8/6).

He informs, oil spills pollute seven islands in South Thousand Islands: Untung Jawa Island, Bidadari Island, Ayer Island, Rambut Island, Bokor Island, Damar Island, and Lancang Island.

He wants this post can accelerate all sides work to clean oil waste. In this chance, he also asks Pertamina to provide personal protective equipment such as glove and boots to ensure safety of PPSU personnel and residents who are involved cleaning the waste.

"I hope all institutions and residents can cooperate to solve this problem. We need to clean oil spills in the sea and coastal area immediately," he stated.
