Jakarta Food Security Agency Harvests 10 Kg of Pak Choi

10 kg of pak choi are harvested in urban farming from the Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency, Jalan Gunung Sahari Raya, Gunung Sahari Utara Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta. 

This is a continuous activity and will be replanted after the harvest

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency Head, Darjamuni said that the harvest is distributed to the office employees and processed into pak choi smoothies for consumption.

"This is a continuous activity and will be replanted after the harvest," he expressed, Friday (8/9).

Currently his agency is conducting a pilot garden arrangement starting from green house, vertiminaponik, hydroponic and tabulampot. It is hoped could inspire other offices in making urban farming.

"We use a 300-square meter land for growing vegetables. Despite the land is limited, all government offices can also implement the same method," he explained.

Urban Farming Division Head, Taufik Yulianto added that urban farming has many benefits such as the environment becomes greener and more beautiful and the harvest can also be consumed together.

"We also encourage it to the private offices," he stressed.
