City to Hold Independence Day Ceremony Tomorrow on Pantai Maju

Jakarta Provincial Government is scheduled to hold Independence Day ceremony on Pantai Maju, North Jakarta tomorrow, Saturday (8/17).

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asserted the ceremony brings the message that the reclaimed island belongs to the general public. That means, they can access the island without having to be restricted.

"This reclamation land was a closed area before, closely guarded as if it was private property. Then we change it into a promenade area belonging to the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

This is a message that there is no exclusive, closed territory, this is the property of the Republic of Indonesia," he explained.

Jakarta Community Alliance (Amarta) Chairperson, Rico Sinaga asserted its implementation needs support and appreciation. This momentum is to change all that happened on Pantai Maju.

"It will be a milestone and affirmation that Pantai Maju is an open place and can be accessed by anyone without exception," he told.

He added that Mr. Anies has proven his capacity as Jakarta Governor.

"He is not rhetorical, but applies to the true love of his motherland," he stressed.

As for the information, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued Governor Instruction No. 71/2019 on Ceremony of Indonesia's 74th Independence Day whereby it will be held on August 17, 2019 at 7.30 AM.

Then credible civil servant (ASN) must be ready at the ceremony at 7 AM.

Based on Governor Instruction No. 71/2019 signed by the governor on August 12, 2019 also mandates all regional apparatuses must send the attendance list of employees who attend the ceremony to the Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD) at least one day after the ceremony as disciplinary control.

To provide ease of transportation, a shuttle bus will be alerted to take them at 5.30 AM.
