City Starts to Build 200 Parks and Plant 2,000,000 Flowers

Through Jakarta Forestry Agency, the Jakarta Provincial Government starts to build 200 parks and plant 2,000,000 flowers (500,000 trees and 1,500,000 ornamental plants) until 2022. This action is started by planting 100,000 flowers type bougenville alongside Jalan Sudirman-Jalan MH Thamrin on Sunday (8/18). 

We want to realize Jakarta as a beautiful city

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan also participated in planting and handing plant seeds to representatives of principals in six Jakarta areas. It is done to follow up the Governor's Instruction No. 66/2019 about Jakarta Air Quality Control

"We want to realize Jakarta as a beautiful city. What does it mean? What we take advantage of is the loan of our generation of children and grandchildren. Therefore, we must leave the city in good condition. Making sure it is our shared responsibility," said Anies, quoted from Jakarta Provincial PPID press release.

He explained bougenville flower is able to highly absorb air pollution, relieve stress and has a dazzling aesthetic element.

He also emphasized that it is a form of collaboration between Jakarta Provincial Government and various agencies and communities in the environmental field, as well as residents, as he wants every citizen to have awareness and love for their environment.

"After this planting, we have to collaborate maintain the plant in order to realize a beautiful city," he stated.
