North Jakarta Plans to Plant Bougainvillea on Median Strip Between Protocol Roads

We are still proposing this plan and hopefully it can be realized next week

North Jakarta Forestry Sub-department will plant orange, red, and purple bougainvillea plants on the median strip along two protocol roads.

East Jakarta Targets to Plant One Million Sansevieria

North Jakarta Forestry Sub-department Head, Putut Widya Martata explained, his side will plant colorful bougainvillea in median strip between Jalan Yos Sudarso and Jalan RE. Martadinata to reduce air pollution and beautify the area.

"We are still proposing this plan and hopefully it can be realized next week," he mentioned, Tuesday (8/20).

According to him, bougainvillea is chosen because it has a high absorption capacity for air pollution. Its maintenance is also relatively easy  since it doesn't need a lot of water.

"Besides median strip, we will also plant shade trees in public cemetery (TPU) and public housing (rusun) such as mahogany, fern leaf tree (Filicium decipiens), tabebuia, and rain tree (samanea saman)," he informed.
