Ahok Agrees DPRD to Form Transjakarta's Inquiry Committee

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama agrees the plan of Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) to form the Transjakarta's inquiry committee (Pansus) in order to find out the cause of the burning Transjakarta bus a few days ago. The man who popularly called as Ahok assessed the pansus formation is reasonable, considering one of council duty function has done monitoring the executive agency.

He assessed pansus formation is reasonable. This is because, one of council duties is the supervisor of the development process conducted by regional head.

According to him, the incident of burning Transjakarta bus on Jalan Sisingamangaraja or precisely in front of the Al-Azhar Mosque, South Jakarta, Thursday (8/28), should be investigated deeply. Moreover, the bus was still new.
"It is impossible if the bus' cable burned. Why? this is purely from tje engine. The spare part and its quality are very poor. That's why we must investigate it," he expressed.
Basuki added procurement of Transjakarta bus fleet next year will no longer from China. But he plans to purchase bus made in Europe due to has been tested properly. "Next year, we would purchase bus from Europe," he added.
Seeing many issues on Transjakarta bus, the DPRD plans to form Transjakarta's pansus. Council also requested an audit investigation related with the procurement of the Transjakarta bus.
