Combating Corruption Socialized to Ranks of Education Agency

The corruption eradication commission (KPK), socialized the importance of eradicating corruption and gratification to the ranks of Jakarta Education Agency, at its office on Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/28).

It was participated by 200 people consisted of school principals from various levels of education and leaders to employees.

"They must understand very well how to eradicate corruption and gratification, as well as must be an example for the young generation," expressed Jakarta Education Agency Head, Ratiyono.

Anti-Corruption Socialization Given to Regency's Civil Apparatuses

This socialization shares an understanding that there is the most severe sanctions compared to bribery and extortion.

"If you see the same case, report it to the inspectorate as controller under Jakarta Provincial Government," he explained.

KPK's Gratification Director, Syarief Hidayat uttered that gift giving from parents of students to teachers and students to lecturers were usually deemed normal. But according to article 12B, Act No. 20/2001 on Eradication of Corruption, it was a violation.

"Surely the sanctions or penalties are very heavy, as gratification receiver have been given an opportunity within 30 working days," he asserted.

So don't be afraid to report if this happens in the office environment.
