Process of Accessible Sidewalks Construction in North Jakarta Reaches 70 Percent

Accessible sidewalks construction process in 6 roads of North Jakarta as long as 10.1 kilometers now reaches 70 percent.

This construction is started since June 14 and targeted to finish on November 11

North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-department's Road Infrastructure and Utility Network Section Head, Libertus Sagala conveyed, those accessible sidewalks are constructed on Jl. Danau Sunter Utara, Jl. Lodan Raya, Jl. Martadinata, Jl. Pluit Timur, Jl. Dadap Raya and Jl. Kamal Muara.

"We provide these sidewalks as comfortable as possible by making its surface flat especially on driveway or building's exit and entrance access ways," he explained, Tuesday (9/2).  

Disabled People Feel Happy Getting More Attention

In order to make it accessible for people with disabilities, his side installs tactile paving as the guidance for blind pedestrians and bollards to ensure vehicles for not entering sidewalk and park bench area.

Meanwhile, his side uses decorative concreate for its construction since it is considered long-lasting and aesthetic.

"This construction is started since June 14 and targeted to finish on November 11," he informed.
