11 New Channels Construction in East Jakarta Reaches 50 Percent

East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-department is currently building 11 new water channel in East Jakarta. It is built to realize resident's request through Planning and Development Discussion (Musrenbang) 2018.

"In average, new water channels construction process has reached 50 percent. These channels are made to anticipate inundation and flood in rainy season," stated Santo, East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-department Head, Friday (9/13).
First channel is located on Jalan Mini I and III Bambu Apus installed with 60x60 cm and 80x80 cm U-ditch concrete as long as 1,357 meters. Then, on Jalan Pondok Bambu with length 509 meters installed with 80x80 cm U-ditch concrete, on Jalan Cipinang Cempedak IV with length 312 meters installed with 60x80 cm U-ditch concrete.

Next, channel on Jl. Cipinang Kebembem until Jl. Bekasi Raya, Pulogadung with length 602 meters using 100x100 cm and 120x120 cm U-ditch concrete, channel on Jl. Bulak Ringin, Cibubur as long as 648 meters using 40x40 cm and 80x80 cm U-ditch concrete, channel on Jl. A-Syafiiyah Cilangkap with length 1,143 square meters using 80x80 cm and 60x60 cm U-ditch concrete.
Next, channel on Jl. Raya Pondok Ranggon with length 650 meters using 60x60 cm and 80x80 cm U-ditch concrete, channel on Jl. Kandang Sapi cakung Timur as long as 478 meters using 100x100 cm U-ditch concrete.
"Last, channel on Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta until Jalan Bekasi Timur as long as 1,049 square meters using 100x100 cm and 120x120 cm box culvert," he informed.
According to him, his side uses U-ditch and box culvert concrete to build those channels since its material is stronger to prevent landslide.
"This construction uses Rp 21.8 billion taken from City Budget (APBD) 2019. Our target is to compete it in December 2019," he mentioned.
